About the Course

Welcome! In this course learners will develop expertise in basic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) physics and principles and gain knowledge of many different data acquisition strategies in MRI. In particular, learners will get to know what is magnetic resonance phenomenon, how magnetic resonance signals are generated, how an image can be formulated using MRI, how soft tissue contrast can change with imaging parameters. Also introduced will be MR imaging sequences of spin echo, gradient echo, fast spin echo, echo planar imaging, inversion recovery, etc....

Quite a difficult course to comprehend if you, like me, have only an Associate's degree, and not a bachelor's. Despite that, I enjoyed studying it, because in my profession, (I am a biomedical technitian), we see a whole bunch of equipment, and you never get to every deep way of functioning of each one. In a way, I got a general comprehension and introduction of what requires to achieve the whole process of MRI image acquiring.

It is a bit hard to understand the instructor's pronounciation but overall, it's a good course. It would be better if there is explanation about the formulas for those who come from clinical background since we do not have expertise on the details of the inner workings of the machines as well as the formulas
